Annual Day celebrated by Amity International School Noida

Effervescence and gaiety marked the Annual Day celebrations at Amity International School, Noida on 25 November 2006. More than 2000 Amitians put up a superbly orchestrated programme showcasing their prodigious talent.

The evening unravelled to the traditional lighting of the lamp. The school ground reverberated with the chanting of the Vedic ‘shlokas’.

Mrs. Mohina Dar, the Principal, Amity International School, Noida presented the school Annual Report tracing the school’s achievements since its inception more than a decade ago and the perseverance and determination that has made Amity Noida a force to reckon with. She further highlighted the role of meaningful education being imparted at Amity Noida that equips the students to unearth their true potential. Each Amitian, she said, is a unique embodiment of purity, humility, benevolence and dynamism.

Cosmic Rhapsody, The Amity orchestra, comprising over 200 musically attuned students rendered ‘ Raaga Bhoopali’, a spiritual, meditative fusion of percussion instruments charging the atmosphere with cadence and sublimity. The students displayed perfect harmony while performing to the accompaniment of the synthesizer, harmonium, tabla, violin and the flute.

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, the beacon and guiding light of the Amity Universe applauded the efforts of the students and motivated them to scale even greater heights.

The Guest of Honour, and the Chief Guest, H.E. Mr. Noureddine Bardad Daidj, the Algerian Ambassador to India lauded the synergistic efforts of the participants.

Special awards for excellence in academics, science, sports music, art and upholding Indian values and culture were given to meritorious students. The highlight of the evening was the enthralling musical play, ‘Chanakya’, depicting the life and times of ancient India’s most acclaimed strategist and administrator. A musical adaptation conceived, produced and directed by Mrs.Madhu Sagar, showcased the plenteous prowess of over 2000 Amitians. The grandeur of the stage successfully elicted the aura of a golden era while the graceful dancing and animated acting left the audience spellbound.

Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools, in her vote of thanks congratulated the students for putting up a scintillating show. She further said that she was proud of the Amitian spirit that believes in team work and perfection in all spheres of life. The function ended with the school song followed by the national anthem.
