Steps Towards Rural Upliftment by Amity

Amity a leading group of educational institution in India, is constantly working to provide the best academic inputs and most hi-tech learning environment coupled with a deep respect for value system to groom has now moved step ahead to provide social support for the upliftment of Rural poor people. Amity has established a Centre for Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas, which is working for the overall socio-economic upliftment of poor people of District-Mewat, and Gurgaon in Haryana by adopting 29 villages. The centre works for women empowerment, health, education, vocational training and improvement in agriculture production.
Amity is proud to open a Vocational Training Institute in village Gwalior (Panchgaon) of District-Gurgaon in which vocational training in Beauty and Hair Care, Cutting, Tailoring and Patch work and stuffed toys making will be provided to the young ladies of a cluster of 4- 5 villages. The Institute was inaugurated by Smt. Indu Chauhan, Trustee, Amity Group in which more than 150 women participated. 60 women registered their name for training in Beauty and Hair Care, 32 in cutting and Tailoring and 30 in Handicrafts and stuffed toys making. Speaking on the occasion Smt. Indu Chauhan appreciated the enthusiasm and response of the village women towards learning new things and said that the Institute efforts was step towards providing Vocational Trainings which would not only increase their income but would also make them aware about the self grooming.
Dr. P.C. Sabharwal, Director Amity Centre for Providing Urban Amentias in Rural Areas (PURA) assured the gathering that the Institute will not only train them in the respective fields of training but would also help them to set up their own units through linkage with financial institutions and will also help them for marketing of their produce. He mentioned that one such Vocational Training Institute was already running in village-Kalwari District-Mewat where the young ladies of villages were being trained in different profession. Today, we have to work in the rural sectors, if we want to bring on economic revolution in the country
