Shri Amar Singh awards diplomas at 7th Convocation for the Amity Business School
Amity Business School (ABS) organized its 7th Convocation at the ABS Campus on
March 4, 2005. The convocation was held to award the Post Graduate Diplomas to
the P.G.D.M (full time) and P.G.D.M (three year- part time) batch of 2003 and
also the Graduate Diplomas to the B.B.A batch of 2003.
It was a solemn occasion and as the “Batch of 2003” gathered to
receive their respective diplomas, the holy chants of the majestic “Saraswati
Vandana” reverberated throughout the auditorium.
The Founder President of Amity, Dr. Ashok.K..Chauhan heartily welcomed the
families of the alumni and talked about how Amity has proved the value of its
driving theme- “Where Modernity Blends with Tradition”.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Amar Singh, MP, Rajya Sabha & Chairman-
U.P. Development Council. While congratulating all the graduating students,
Shri Amar Singh said: “I am very happy to see the black robes because
Black is the colour of knowledge, and it is this colour which has the power
to convert everything into white”. He further added that anybody could
become an icon, only if he/she performs his/her duties with total commitment
and dedication.
The "Amar Singh Award for Leadership Qualities and Organizing
Abilities" was
presented to Mr. Virendra Khanna while the Kenichi Ohmae award for
Strategic Thinking went to Mr. Gaurav Aggarwal.
The best All-Rounder award for the PGDM batch went to Ms. Shirin Gomber.
Geetika Anand stood first in academics.
Mr. Sumip Jain stood first in academics for the PGDBA batch and Mr. Alok
Chandana bagged the first position in academic for the three- year part time
PGDM course.
Prof. Raj Singh, Deputy Director General of Amity Business School, congratulated
the batch of 2003 and presented the annual report.
