7th Orientation Ceremony held at ASCO, Noida

Amity School of Communication (ASCO), Noida organized its 7th Orientation Ceremony at Amity Campus, Noida. The ceremony started with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana.

The event took place in the presence of Mr. Ashok Sinha (Director, ASCO) along with institute's faculty members, students and various other eminent guests from the media. Welcoming the students, Mr. Sinha said, 'They should develop the skill to recognize the right opportunity so that they could climb the ladder of success.'

The Chief Guest for the occasion were Ms. Syeda Imam, Former Director, JWT and Mr. Sanjeev Srivastava, Indian Correspondent for BBC News.

Encouraging the 60 new young talents who form the 7th batch at ASCO, Ms Imam commented, “Training turns a cabbage to cauliflower. Your institute will train you the skills which you will henceforth apply to your profession to emerge winners. So make the best of whatever is served to you”.

Mr Sanjeev Srivastava presented his school of thought on journalism stating it as a craft where a lot of hardwork, learning and relentless efforts are required. In his address he mentioned that "Journalism has undergone a tremendous change due to the fierce competition between various media houses".

Keeping with the traditions of ASCO, the event also saw a young achiever, Rishi Agarwal (ASCO Alumni), a finalist at the New York Print Festival, a recipient of the Delhi Ad Club Gold Award and now a copywriter with Mudra Communications, being felicitated with a memento by Ms Syeda Imam to mark his achievements.

Other eminent speakers for the occasion were Mr. Sidharth Mishra, Metro Editor- The Pioneer, Mr. Ramesh Menon , a Veteran Journalist, Mr. Ramesh Kaul, GM- Triton Communications and Mr. Shiveshwar Raj Singh, Creative Director- FCB Ulka who introduced the new young lot to the world of journalism and advertising.
