Amity started off as a dream of an extremely successful industrialist in Europe, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, to revolutionise the education system in India. The growth to 50,000 students studying in 130 programmes across 22 campus within a short span off about a decade is the result of dedicated efforts of the over 1500-storng faculty guided by some of the senior moat academicians comprising of seven former Vice Chancellors, including those of Roorkee and BHU, the former Chairman of UGC, Vice Chairman of AICTE & Secretary General of AIU.
