PROGRAMME GUIDELINES

THE PROGRAMME CYCLES

There will be two semesters every year as under:

January Semester : January to June
July Semester       : July to December


ELIGIBILITY:

Any Graduate Degree or equivalent/ Engineering Diploma holder from a recognized polytechnic institution with 5 years experience. Students appearing for the final year (Graduation) examination are also eligible.


EVALUATION

The weightage for grading is as under:

Assignment                              : 40%
End Term Examination (ETE       : 60%


ASSIGNMENTS

You are required to do three assignments per subject (issued along with the reading materials) during each semester. These are structured to test the comprehension and application of learning acquired through the reading material provided by the institute.

These assignments cover:
  • Five Analytical Questions (First half of the Syllabus)
  • Three Analytical Questions and One Case Study
  • 40-50 Objective Questions


PROJECT WORK

The Project Work equips candidates with practical application of knowledge and skills relevant to their area of study. A Synopsis, as per format mentioned in the self study material, has to be forwarded for approval. Students can select any subject as per their choice. After approval students are required to send their project report for final evaluation before the End term exam of the final semester.


SUPPLEMENTARY EXAM

Students missing an ETE or failing to get qualifying grade are permitted to reappear in the supplementary examination on payment of requisite examination fee. Supplementary exams are held twice in a year i.e. in the months of February and August.


GRADES

All students need to secure a minimum of 40% marks in each subject to pass. Grading is given as under:

80% and above : A
60% to 79.9%   : B
50% to 59.9%   : C
40% to 49.9%   : D
Below 40%       : F (fail)
