STUDIO VISITS: To get exposed to real-media situations and get the familiar with studio set-ups, students are taken as members of the audience to leading channels.

PRESS VISITS: The students of ASCO visit leading newspaper offices every year where they get a chance to interact with top media professionals and get an understanding on the various processes from news-gathering, editing, page make-up to printing involved in the production of a national daily. Such visits are designed to familiarize the students with all aspects of newspaper functioning and the environment in which newspapers are produced.

VISIT TO PARLIAMENT: The students are taken to visit Parliament where are sensitized with the functioning of the two Houses of Parliament.

THE BEAT: It is an in-house annual magazine which ASCO students bring out with articles focusing on media and media personalities.

ASCO UNPLUGGED: ASCOites produce a monthly lab journal called the ASCO UNPLUGGED that gives them a hands-on experience of producing a monthly news journal. This project gives the budding journalists the necessary lessons on importance of deadlines, news sense, page make-up, and the need to cope with pressure while producing a newspaper in a short time.

MEDIA PRESENTATIONS: The students regularly make class-room presentations and undertake media-related projects. Topics can be anything-burning issues, news makers, ethics, moral dimensions of being a journalist, market considerations in media world, etc.

Bulletin @ASCO: The ASCO bulletin boards provide students with the platform to exhibit their creativity and innovation. The daily updates revolve around news events, hot topics, what's in and what's not and other media-related happenings. Original articles, poems, sketches, articles, cartoons, posters, public service advertisements adorn the ASCO bulletin board at all times.
