Vasudha/Mathamity

In an effort to inculcate scientific temperament and encourage research & innovation amongst children, as envisaged by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, the school organises Amity Children Science Congress titled Vasudha and Mathamity every alternate year. Under this initiative, children are encouraged to prepare small do-able projects in Science and Maths. The shortlisted projects are then sent for various national and international forums namely National Children Science Congress (NCSC), Initiatives for Research and Innovation in Science (IRIS), CSIR exhibitions and so on.

2015-2016 ->

Students showcased science and math projects on the theme light The projects of Mathamity included a game on integers, a device to prevent upcoming space disasters and a tiny trust bridge that can tolerate up to 800 kg of weight. The projects under Vasudha exhibition included using lime water and biological waste to purify air, designed glue from thermocol and even worked on weather prediction from clouds and animals. The junior school designed a hydraulic bridge for rescue operations, a capacitor to prevent short-circuiting and many other projects.

Heritage Quiz

As a part of Heritage Education, every year the school identifies three states/UTs and celebrates their rich and diverse heritage. Various activities are organized through the year under the guidance of Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, where children are encouraged to learn about the selected state’s people, culture, lifestyle, art & craft, music, dance, costumes, fairs and festivals, languages, religions, rituals, cuisine, etc. The highlights are colourful display boards, inter-section quiz, food festivals, etc. The yearlong celebrations conclude with Inter Amity Heritage Quiz hosted by AIS Saket.

2015-2016 ->

Students showcased a wide variety of projects on the selected states of the year namelywere Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Nagaland.

Mental Math Quiz

Mental Math Quiz is an ongoing annual project initiated by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) AmitaChauhan that aims to nurture young mathematicians by enhancingthe mathematical proficiency of students from class I to X. The competitions held at different levels i.e intra class, intra section and then inter schoolrekindle interest in mathematical tables, enable students to calculate without paper and pen besides developing better reasoning and logical skills.

2015-2016 ->

The school hosted Mental Math Quiz for Class VIII. Dr. Arun Pal Singh, Asst.Prof Maths in Dayal Singh, Delhi University was the chief guest. Mr. Bajpai also graced the event with his gracious presence. Our dynamic Principal Dr.Priyanka Mehta, in her address to the students encouraged them to excel in the field of maths. The prizes were given away by the chief guest, Dr.Arun Pal Singh, Mr. Bajpai and the headmistress Ms. Ruchi Rawat. The winners of the quiz were:

Making-a-Newspaper Contest: GT Awards

The annual Inter Amity GT Making a Newspaper Contest introduced by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan and organized by The Global Times, introduces the school students to the different nuances of journalism in a competitive atmosphere. Under this programme, every school prepares one complete edition of the newspaper from the stage of conceptualization to finalizing the designing, layouts and editing. The competition, judged by experts from the media industry, concludes with GT Awards.

2015-2016 ->

The GT edition dated August 10, 2015prepared completely by the students of AIS MV as part of GT Making A Newspaper Contest bagged several awards.IshaniGhosal and Mini Jain of X C won Second Runners-up award for Best Ground Reporting. MalikaIyer of XII D bagged the Second Runners-up trophy for the Best Illustration. ShivanRanjan and Nitya Gupta also bagged the Second Runners-up trophy in the Best Educational Poster Category.
AIS MayurVihar won the First Runners Up trophy for Best Editing in 2014-15.

Amity YuvaVicharManch

Amity YuvaVicharManch is a forum provided by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan wherein the students and teachers across Amity, discuss and debate on various scientific and technical issues of importance. This year-long programme comprises five stages, viz., essay writing competition, group discussions, debating sessions, power point presentations based on the compilation of case studies and concludes with the most elaborative Youth Parliament that also involves understanding of parliamentary procedures.

2017-2018 ->

Date: May 11, 2017
The school hosted the grand finale of seventh Amity Yuva Vichar Manch. The students from all Amity International Schools discussed, deliberated and debated on the current issue of ‘Gender equality through performance or reservation’. The school auditorium was converted into a Parliament and the session incorporated all the proceedings of the Parliament like introduction of bill, clause by clause discussion, voting and zero hour. The session ended with the prize distribution ceremony in nine categories including ‘Most Humorous Parliamentarian’, ‘Best Orator’, ‘Top Informed Parliamentarian’, ‘Best Question Raised’, etc.

AIS MV participated in the sixth AYVM held at AIS Noida. The event organised under the aegis of Amity’s Children Science Foundation (CSF), saw students slip into the shoes of parliamentarians as they discussed different topics like - Is academic talent of more worth than sporting talent, Odd-Even scheme, No Junk Food bill etc. The school won many other awards in various categories. Shashwat Das and Radha Agarwal were awarded for Best Question and Best Answer respectively. Hriday Kulshrestha was awarded as the most Informed Parliamentarian.

The topics discussed at AYVM 2014-15 included Sustainable development - a myth or reality, Good health –responsibility of self or system, Clean Rivers and water bodies are responsibilities of govt., India a guinea pig for research in developed countries etc.
The school also won several awards. Ms. Shweta Gaur and Dr. RolyTripathi won the second and third prize respectively in the teacher’s presentation category for their topic-‘Social networking media making us more unsocial’ and ‘Good health responsibility of self or system’. The highlight of thestudent participation included the appointment of Advik Agarwal as Home Minister and Ayushi Ahuja as Minister of HRD. Shastwat Das bagged award for the Best Question Raised whileApoorvaIyer bagged the Best Question-Answer Award.

Sports Meet

The Inter Amity Sports competition organized under the leadership of Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan aims to stress on the importance of sports in students’ lives and how it can inculcate discipline for personality development. The competition held over the year includes a number of games as football, circlet, table tennis, khokho, aerobics, taekwondo, PEC, etc. hosted by different Amity branches. The games organized strictly on the rules of the respective federations, commences with inter house matches, followed by league matches and then the finals.

2015-2016 ->

The 4th edition of Inter Amity Sports Competition saw the participation of 15000 students, and distribution of more than 400 medals and 40 trophies in 13 sports discipline. The school hosted the Chess Tournament on April 6, 7 and 13, 2015. The school won a total of 10 Gold, 15 Silver and 29 Bronze medals in different competitions as Chess, Karate, Table Tennis, Skating, Basketball and Cricket.

Bazinga: Science Quiz

An annual inter Amity Science quiz titled ‘Bazinga’, organized for students of Class IX to XI was conceived byChairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan to inculcate scientific temper in the students. The quiz aims at testing the theoretical, analytical and reasoning skills inphysics. It is first held at intra classlevel, followed by inter class level, culminates withthe inter Amity round. The questions for different rounds are based on various subjects including physics, chemistry, biology, latest innovations, scientists and audio-visuals.

2016-2017 ->

Inter-Amity Science Quiz 'Bazinga'

Date: November 16, 2016
The school hosted the quiz for Class XI students. The event was graced by the presence of eminent names from the field of Science, Dr O P Sharma and Dr Anuj Sinha. AIS Noida bagged the first position followed by AIS Gurgaon 46 and AIS Saket as the first runner up and second runner up respectively.

2015-2016 ->

Over 600 students participated in this Science quiz. Arijit Roy and Aranya Chakraborty of class IX won the 3rd prize at Bazinga quiz held at AIS Noida. Hritik Jain and Karan Gupta of class X also won the 3rd Prize at the quiz held at AIS Saket.

Verve: Aerobics competition

With the objective of strengthening physical agility in students, Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan introduced ‘Verve’ an Aerobics competition hosted by AIS PushpVihar. The competition serves as a forum for children to showcase their fitness levels. The competition divided into senior and junior category includes several individual, dual, trio and teamperformances, and is judged by eminent personalities from thefield of sports.

Hindi Natya Utsav

With an aim to kindle love forour national language Hindi amongst Amitians, Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan introduced ‘Hindi Natya Utsav’ hosted by AIS Mayur Vihar every year. The competition invites participation from all branch of Amity schools to enact plays in Hindi based on social issues or works of literary giants as per the theme, which are then judged by experts from the industry.

2016- 17 ->

April 28, 2017 The school organised an inter-Amity drama competition titled ‘Hindi Natya Utsav’ to develop dramatic skills and to promote acting ability among students. The programme presided over by Dr Indu Jain and Dr M K Pandey commenced with lamp lighting ceremony. The participants dressed in vibrant costumes enthralled the audience with their theatrical skills. The vote of thanks was given by school Principal Priyanka Mehta.

Hindi Natya Utsav

Report 2015:

Inter-Amity Hindi Natya Utsav was organized on Tuesday, 28th April, 2015. The programme was an initiative to kindle love for Hindi language and literature amongst Amitians, a belief close to the heart of respected Chairperson, RBEF, Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan. Dr. M.K. Pandey, Mr. Amitesh Kumar and Mr. Gaurav Pahwa graced the occasion as the special guests and judges for the occasion. Eight teams from all the Amity schools enacted plays based on the theme ‘Social Issues’. The first prize was won by Amity International School, Pushp Vihar while the second prize was won by Amity International School, Saket. AIS, Vasundhara, Sector 6, won the third prize while AIS, Noida won the consolation prize. The judges praised all the teams and appreciated their excellent performances. The programme concluded with the rendition of the school song and the national anthem by the school choir.

Each of the participating schools presented a play on a social issue. AIS PV emerged as the winner while the second and third prize was bagged by AIS Saket and AIS Vas 6 respectively.

  • Amity International School, Mayur Vihar celebrated a week long ‘Sanskrit Week’ starting from 20 August 2015 to 28 August 2015. The celebrations started with a grand fiesta “SUBHASHIKA”- an inter school Sanskrit competition. This endeavour is in tandem with CBSE’s directive to promote the language. The theme for the junior category participation was patriotic group song in Sanskrit. The senior category competed in skit presentation on the theme “Organ donation in ancient India”. The Chairperson- Amity Schools, Dr Amita Chauhan is a torch bearer in inculcating the love for the most ancient and scientific language. Subhashika is an embodiment of her vision towards making Sanskrit- the language of our forefathers popular amongst the present generation of learners. The event was graced by eminent personalities in the field of Sanskrit- Dr K. Anantha, Associate professor Dept of Vishishta Advaitavedanta, Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha and Dr. Ramchandra Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Nyaya. They were the judges for the event.

Amity Schools Art & Sculpture Teachers' Camp

In an effort to promote healthy competition and showcase the artistic skills of the art faculty and students as envisaged by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Amity Group of Schools organise a one-week art camp every year that culminates with an exhibition. The camp, based on a different theme every year witness’s active participation of teachers from all branches of Amity. Every year, the camp is graced by art connoisseurs who also judge the event and award the participants.

The school’s art faculty and group of students participated in the fourth Art & Sculpture Camp in their respective schools on the theme ‘Incredible India’. Each team comprising 3 students and a teacher in-charge worked on a masterpiece during the camp. The selective masterpieces were adjudged by famous artists.

Youth Power

The annual ethical leadership programme, initiated by The Global Times-Amity’s youth newspaper, aims at grooming students as harbingers of change. Young leaders from across all Amity International Schools work on different social issues related to women, by forming teams, researching topics, designing plans of action, generating funds and finally showcasing their work in the form of a presentation at the grand finale.

2016-2017 ->

Team leader KuberSumra (X E) along with AashnaManocha ( X D), Oorja Mehta (X B) and Radha Agarwal (X F) with mentor teacher P Rohini took up the cause of spreading awareness on Hand Sanitization. The excellent work done by the team fetched them the Second Runners-Up trophy. The team was also adjudged first in the Best Research Strategy.

Shubhashika: Inter Amity Sanskrit Competition

It has been the constant endeavour of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF, to promote Sanskrit language amongst school children as it represents our rich heritage and culture. With this objective ‘Subhashika’- an inter school Sanskrit competition was introduced, hosted by AIS MV.

2017-2018 ->

The school organised its tenth Inter-Amity Sanskrit Competition ‘Subhashika’ on August 18, 2017. The event is an initiative by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, to foster love for Sanskrit language. The competition was divided into two parts on different themes. For juniors, it was recitation on ‘Guru Mahima’ and for seniors, it was a dance drama on ‘Pauranik Kathayein’. The event saw fabulous presentations put up by the students of all Amity Schools. The rolling trophy was bagged by AIS Pushp Vihar.

2016-2017 ->

The annual Inter Amity Sanskrit competition 'Subhashika' was organised on August 24, 2016. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by chief guests Sudhishtha Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Sanskrit Bharti and Dr Pankaj Kumar Mishra, professor, St Stephen’s College. The competition was divided into two categories. For the junior category, it was recitation of ‘Vidya Mahima’ and for seniors, it was a dance drama on 'Krishna Bhakti'. AIS Mayur Vihar and AIS Saket bagged the first position in senior and junior category respectively. The rolling trophy was won by the host school which was passed on to AIS Saket.

2015-2016 ->

The school celebrated ‘Sanskrit Week’ from August 20- 28, 2015. The celebrations commenced with ‘Subhashika’ where the rolling trophy was bagged by AIS Pushp Vihar, with students of Class VI-VIII winning the patriotic song competition and the students of Class IX-X securing second position in the theatre performance. The theme of their play was ‘Organ donation in ancient India’.The event was judged by eminent personalities from the field of Sanskrit. School principal Dr. Priyanka Mehta encouraged the students and appreciated their Sanskrit mentors for showing a healthy competitive spirit and organising a flawless event.
