A Step towards Hepatitis Free India

The school participated in the competition held on the occasion of Hepatitis Day at Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences, Vasant Kunj. Over 18 schools including all Amity International Schools from Delhi and NCR participated in the competition. The competition comprised poster making, slogan writing and open quizzes. Amity Gurgaon Half Marathon

The school participated in fourth edition of Half Marathon organised by Amity Group in collaboration with The Hindustan Times at Leisure Valley, Gurgaon. The marathon was held in three categories- 21 kms run, 10 kms run and 5 kms run. The top three winners of different categories were awarded exciting prizes.

Weekend Theatre Worskshop

The school in association with ‘Gateway to Theatres’ presented ‘Once upon a time in winters’ – a creative skit to enhance the creativity and innovative skills of students at Epicenter, Gurgaon. Students underwent training for developing theatrical skills, stage presence and voice modulation under the mentorship of Gaurav Pahwa and Shaina Pahwa. The play was presented in four different adaptations by the students.

The students brought laurels to the school by winning awards in different categories in ‘Delhi Pratibha Puraskar’ held at New Delhi. Sruti Mishra bagged the first prize in Vocal category, Shivang Duseja won the second position for playing Tabla and AR Anitya bagged the second prize for playing instrument in the competition. The school hosted the sixth AFYCP Inter- Amity Math and Science Symposium organised under the aegis of AICE. Children from all the three AFYCP centers, Gurgaon, Pushp Vihar and Noida also took part. AIS Gurgaon 46 celebrated its junior school Annual Day on February 21, 2017. CBSE National Aerobics Championship

The school hosted the CBSE National Aerobics Championship wherein more than 750 students from 47 CBSE schools participated. The competitions were conducted under different categories like Boys U-11, U-14, U-19 and Girls U-11, U-14, U-19. The winners of all three categories were awarded with medals, trophies and certificates. AIS Gur 46 won 2 Gold and 5 Bronze medals in the championship and was awarded the overall Championship Trophy.

Winter Rendezvous

The school organised Winter Rendezvous- a fun filled carnival for the students in the school premises. It was a grand event that deluged the young and old ones in the festive spirit. The carnival witnessed visitors in a large number as they found themselves lost in a maze of rides like Columbus, giant wheel, merry go round, games and food stalls. Children, staff members and parents enjoyed the whole carnival.

ACC Camp

The students attended the annual ACC Camp at Manesar. They practiced for the march past in ACC uniforms and took part in various activities such as parasailing, rock climbing, rappelling, etc. They also practiced shooting, map reading and became part of interactive talk sessions on defense services. It was a great learning and enriching experience for the students.

The school was selected from amongst 6000 applications who applied for setting up of (ATL) Atal Tinkering Labs in schools by Niti Aayog that aims to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’. The schools successfully qualified by participating in the ATL Innovative Challenge where they took up disability as a challenge. Gursimran Singh (XI C) had designed and developed the project ‘EyeScribe’ that could help visually impaired people to read. Padam Chopra (X A) developed an app named ‘Voice’, which aimed to eliminate the problem of ineffective communication between the mute and the mainstream society. Vaishali Tikoo (XII A) developed a pen that could detect learning disability in children.

Adventure Camp

The school organised an adventure camp for the students of Class I to VIII in association with ‘Rocksport’. A host of fun filled activities such as Burma Bridge, Flying Fox, Tarzan Swing, Hamster Wheel, Zorbing, Commando Net, Commando Crawl, Hop Scotch, Wall Climbing, Tent Pitching, Vertical Ladder, Tug of War, etc. were held during the camp. Ms. Sunil Dabas (Padma Shri and Dronacharya Awardee) and Brig. K.P. Singh Deo (A.V.S.M.) graced the Annual Sports day Spardha. After the flag hoisting by the guests, the meet was declared open and a torch was lit to commemorate the event: The customary March Past in contingents, by the students of class X along with the school band drew a spontaneous applause from the audience and this was followed by the taking of the oath by the Sports Captain of the Senior Wing. It was followed by the well-coordinated Panorama –Multi Sports Skill display, Synergy-A Taekwondo display and Abhivyakti-Aerobics performance. Drill Presentation and Aerobics presentation culminated in the prize distribution for students of classes VI - VIII. Best contingent for marching was awarded to Bhagirathi House and overall championship trophy was lifted by Alaknanda House. All the winners were felicitated by Chairperson Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan.

AIS 46 hosted 1st Amity Football Tournament from 16th to 20th December 2016. 12 Outstanding Teams from Gurgaon participated in the tournament. During the four-day event 15 matches were played among the 12 teams. The final match was played between Amity International School Sector-46, Gurgaon and DPS Maruti Kunj. In the tough final none of the two teams could score any goal. The decision was taken through the penalty kick. AIS 46 team won the match with the final score of 5-4. Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan blessed the finalist teams and gave away the prizes.

AIS 46 Gurgaon hosted the Inter School Robo-Tech Championship ROBOTRONICS 2016. Dr. Pulak M Pandey, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Delhi graced the occasion. The honourable judges, Mr. Gurminder Singh, Mr. Girish Sharma, Mr. Varun Sharma, Mr. Pawan Sharma, assessed the skills and talents of the participants. 26 Teams from schools all over Gurgaon and NCR participated enthusiastically in the construction of their robots. Competitions like Brochure making, Poster making, Web development and App Making were conducted in the IT category. In junior’s category AIS 43, Gurgaon bagged the first prize, the second prize was received by Amity 46, and Amity Pushp Vihar was adjudged the third best in the competition. In seniors category First and Second position was bagged by Amity International School, Sector-46, Gurgaon and AIS Saket bagged the third prize. Best Robot Construction was awarded to Amity Saket for senior category and Manav Rachna International, Sec14, Faridabad bagged for juniors category. The over-all winner trophy was secured by AIS, Sec-46.Grugaon. Being the host school the trophy was awarded to Amity Pushp Vihar.

The students of all the sections of grade IV collaborated to showcase their talents and creativity through a class presentation on the theme ‘World Panorama.’ Each section of grade IV participated enthusiastically to show-case the dance, skit, famous personalities and interesting facts about various countries. Class presentation on the theme "Atithi Devo Bhava" was presented by students of class 1. The musical drama showcased the Indian values. Avid scholars of Class 1 presented the annual report of AIS-46 for the session 2016-17. Students took part in skit and dance to showcase the amazing facts about India which are not known to all people. The vibrancy with which India's “Unity in Diversity" was conceptualised through various folk dances captivated the parents. The parents were enthralled by the yoga and Kalripattyu performances by the kids. Nagar Kirtan performance by children took the parents on a religious journey. Parents were mesmerised by an astounding visual treat presented in a very interesting manner by the children. An exhibition was organised for parents showcasing various craft items prepared by children. The function concluded with the school song followed by the National Anthem.

Senior Annual Day

On account of Teacher's Day, an essay writing competition was conducted for all the teaching faculty members by the Chairperson , Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, on the topic-“ Reminiscences – Long and short of teaching journey”. Carpe Diem- Let's Seize The Day with Multiple Intelligence 2016

Amity International School, Sector 46 hosted fourth Inter school Annual MI Fest -2016, to promote holistic development of a child’s personality. Eighteen schools from Gurgaon and NCR took part in the event. Various competitions like Rhyming Zone, Think-Tac-Toe, MI Quest, Tech MI, Radio Gaga, Street Feet Rhythm, Junk Band Ensemble were assessed by eminent judges on parameters that accounted for all the 8 multiple intelligences viz. Linguistic, Spatial, Bodily, Kinesthetic, Inter Personal, Intra Personal, Logical, Musical and Naturalistic.

Amity 46 conducted Chitrankan-The Festival of Colours that aimed to let students imagine, create or experiment to reach out to beautiful spheres of art through exciting competitions.17 schools from Delhi and NCR participated in the event. The students exhibited their artistic flair and their creations in the competitions like Best Out of Waste,3D Sculpture,3D Decoupage, Graffitti, Caricature, Mix Media Mural, Clay Relief ,Tableau Design, Dry Flower Arrangement ,Clay Tale, Art Infographics judged by the freelance artists Ms. Rekha Bajpae and Ms. Subhra Chand . Amity International School, Sector 46 stood first, but being the host school they did not compete for the Rolling Shield which was awarded to Amity International School, Pushp Vihar by the school Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra.The Art competition saw young artists giving expression to their imagination in vivid shapes. Literati 2016- the festival of languages, an event for writers and artists aimed at bringing out the best in creative minds was organized. Over thirty renowned schools from Gurgaon and NCR participated in this mega event.
Eminent personalities from various walks of life like writers, editors, University Professor, IT Professionals along with experts graced the occasion and gave their valuable judgement . A large number of students from various schools participated in the Language Festival of all five languages comprising Hindi, English, Sanskrit, German and French and also highlighted the importance of learning languages .
A beautiful cultural programme was put up by the students. The audience highly appreciated the fusion Dance. Various competitions like Rthyms, Dubbomania, Director’s Cut, Curtain Call, Sanskrit Geeti Kaavya Nritya, Voicing The Opinion, The Quest, Vaad Vivaad, Online Story writing, Online Essay Writing, Online Article, Online Poem writing along with competitions in German- Chor(German Choir) and French- Defile de Caracteres’ were organized to test the language skills of the students.AIS 46 was adjudged as the overall winner. Debate Workshop

Learning to speak in public provides the skills to explore ideas, develop confidence and articulate opinions. A workshop on Debating skills was conducted to promote public speaking skills. The workshop led by the Danish Debater, Mr LawandHiwaNamo, was truly insightful and engaging. By the end of the workshop, the learners were able to learn the essentials of an effective and intelligently structured debate. They were told techniques and tricks to counter their opponent and how to conduct themselves while debating and got to practice what they had learnt in the first Inter Amity Debate Tournament that was conducted as a part of the workshop. It gave the students an exposure that was at par with international standards.

Class VIII Presentation - Youth Parliament

Today’s Youth have become deeply opinionated but at times are frustrated with the lack of opportunity to get their voice and opinions heard. The theme of the class presentation of class VIII -Youth Parliament, gave the students a platform to step forward and understand the importance of question policy from those who have been formulating the policy. The presentation was a simulation of the parliamentary proceedings of a legislature and a tool to promote understanding of the working of government.
The guests and the parents and school Principal Ms. Arti Chopra inaugurated the event by lighting of the lamp of knowledge. It helped to boost their confidence and enhance their speaking and debating skills, delivery of dialogues, thus ensuring all round development of each child.The audience was also sensitized about the issues discussed by the students. The event was initiated with an Instrumental presentation followed by aerobics and dances. Informative talk show on the facts about Sikkim and work ex clubs based on different multiple intelligences got an overwhelming response from the parents. It taught the children the lesson of co-operation and team work.

Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon celebrated its Junior School Annual Day on March 28, 2016 in the school premises. The programme titled ‘Sanskaar’ commenced with an enthrallingSanskaar Beat -an orchestra presentation. School principal Mrs. Arti Chopra presented the Annual Report .It was followed by a special musical performance by the students of Amitasha. The visual feast was scintillating dance drama “Sanskar – The Essence of our Values” that showcased the Indian Ethos, which stands out as having lasted the longest and giving peace, happiness and stability to those who have followed it. It was an amalgam of traditions, moral values and beliefs that have been passed from one generation to another. As time and the whole world stand witness to the cultural and emotional richness of the Indian Diaspora, Amity leads this sterling endeavor, providing conducive environment for the younger generations to grow morally, intellectually and emotionally.

The investiture of the junior council was followed by the senior council. The newly appointed Council Members marched in with heads held high, to the beautiful beats of the school band, and were felicitated with their sashes on this great occasion. Chairperson Dr. ( Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, expressed her fervent belief in every Amitian and congratulated the newly appointed student council.
