AIS- 46 Library is well equipped with resources with a hall, which can accommodate fifty individuals comfortably.

A key part of the library role has always been to guide scholars towards appropriate sources of information. It helps to disseminate the right information to the right users at the right time.

AIS- 46 library is being computerized by adopting the library software package LIBSYS. Through which all the data is being feeded in the computer. Now, the traditional catalogue card based information retrieval has been replaced by the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) provided with the software package. It is actually the new electronically controlled avatar of conventional cabinet containing catalogue cards. Here the required source of information is searched using author’s name, title, subject etc. the physical work of manually searching through thousands of cards is saved by this. Also the issue return is being done through this.

To cope up with day-to-day information our library has subscribed to a vast range of periodicals and newspapers.

It is having a vast collection of subject related books that have been procured in view of the real requirement of his readers. Fiction books which can be used by the scholars as leisure time. Beside these it is also having a wide range of Encyclopedias, dictionaries, quiz books, competition and career books, etc. The overall collection of library is around 10,000. Our library is having around 600 members.

Our library from this session (2006-2007) has now been segregated into two Senior Library (VI- XII) and Junior Library (Nur- V). The junior library as per senior will also be an automated one in keeping the view of the future. These libraries will keep growing in the form of resources and members. Thus, we the librarians at school try to inculcate rich information to the users, as library is an agency, which plays an effective role in the society so that a bright, brave and prosperous world comes into being in future.
