Post Graduate Diploma (Counselling Psychology) (1 Year Full Time)

“Counselling compassionately and empathetically rebuilds individuals from ‘breaking’ to ‘being’ to ‘becoming’

“With the multifarious demands of work and family life, the incidence of mental and physical ill health is rising. The tension and pressures of life are affecting working people and professionals, school going children as well as households. The need for qualified counselors has never been felt more acutely than today. Even family violence is likewise growing in frequency as well as intensity. In fact, the social system as a whole is showing signs of strain. It is not surprising; therefore to see an alarming rise in people seeking help from mental health professionals. Despite the increasing demand, there is a dearth of trained counselors/psychologists in the present scenario.

Students with a background of Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology provide services for people of all ages and with diverse backgrounds. The scientifically grounded and empirically supported interventions students learn in the program make them very competitive for desirable positions in settings such as corporates, adolescent and adult rehabilitation centers, hospitals, NGOs, employee assistance programs, private practice, and as consultants to organizations. Working in this field the students are effective in helping clients make meaningful change and enhance the quality of their lives.
