M.Phil in Psychology (Child & Adolescent Psychology)

“Child Mental Health Is The Foundation Of A Healthy Society And A Healthy Nation”

Mental health problems ranging from mild to severe are continuously on the rise. Although the past few decades have seen a rise in general awareness about mental health related issues, however still there is a significant sparse of well-trained Child & Adolescent Psychologist who can cater to the needs of Children & Adolescents. Not many courses, specifically, emphasize on child and adolescent psychology related issues. With the increasing number of problematic, impulsive behaviors, teenage pregnancies, cases of suicides and depression among the youth of today, a focused study for intervention and prevention is very much required to deal with this area of great concern.

With this aim in mind Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences is initiating a course in M.Phil in Psychology (Specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology), which is a two years full-time programme, which mainly focuses upon the prevention and promotion of child & adolescent mental health. This programme gives a broad background in practical applications, experimental methodology and theory construction through Debates, Journal Clubs, Seminars, Case Discussions, and Field Work & Practicum, which are the special features of this course. Through fieldwork postings & internships training students learn to integrate theory with practice & get hands on experience.

After the completion of this course a wide array of professional opportunities awaits the students.
