  1. MA English

    PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE: The programme aims to have an in-depth study of a wide spectrum of Literatures in English. The students will be initiated to read and respond to a large spectrum of novels, plays and poetry with associated genres. Besides, the students will be exposed to wider socio-cultural and political issues in doing do. This intensive Master's programme in English would offer an in-depth study in English Literature through the study of British literature, Classics in translation, American Literature, European Literature, Indian English Literature and other new forms and trends in English literature.

    PROGRAMME STRUCTURE:
    The M.A. English comprises of 16 courses of 6 (Six) Credits each spread over of four semesters (two years). Semester I: Courses 1-4; Semester II: Courses 5-8; Semester III: Courses 9-12; Semester IV: Courses 13-16. Courses 2, 4, and 13 offer two options each. Besides, there are three optional Foreign Courses (one in each in the first three semesters) of 2 (two) Credits and two Value Added Courses of General Psychology (one in each of the first two semesters) of 2 (two) Credits each.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
    Students with at least 45 % in aggregate in BA English Hons. are eligible to apply while those graduates from other disciplines (Honours and General) should have at least 55 % in aggregate to apply.

    FEE STRUCTURE
    Rs. 40, 000.00 (forty thousand) per annum. The fee is payable in two instalment.

  2. BA. English Hons (Three Years)

    Nine courses (Core) spread over three academic years; one course (Optional) in Foreign language (French/Spanish/German); one value added course in Behavioral Science and two optional courses of Social Science (Psychology/History/Political Science)

  3. Short Term Programmes

    • English Communication:
      Two months evening course covering a wide range of Modules as Writing Skills, Listening Skills, Reading Skills, Speaking Skills, dynamics of GDs, Interview Skills.
    • Business Communication:
      Two months course covering Internal and external written and oral corporate correspondence, dynamics of GDs, Presentation Skills.
    • IELTS:
      Two months evening course covering Writing Module, Listening Module, Reading Module and Speaking Module.
    • TOEFL:
      Two months comprehensive evening course covering Listening, Reading and Essay Writing.

  4. Programmes to be introduced in the 2006 – 2007 academic session

    • Diploma in Creative writing: One year Course
    • Diploma in Women Studies: One year Course
