About the course
The course is designed to produce post graduates with the knowledge, skill and practical experience to enable them to become professionals capable of making important contributions in the rapidly growing field of bioinformatics. The course is primarily designed for graduates with a biological or computer science degree and comprises modules in both computing and biology. The areas covered include both traditional bioinformatics (sequence analysis) as well as new biology (genomics/proteomics).
Duration of the course: Two years
Eligibility
Students who have completed their graduation in biological sciences, chemistry, biochemical engineering or a equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% marks for the general category .
Careers: Employment: The course opens up opportunities in bioinformatics, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
Higher Studies: Students can go in for research in various disciplines of biotechnology.
